What if I told you that you didn’t need to dig the soil to plant crops in Nigeria? It sounds like sorcery right?

Well, it’s not. A young Nigerian man who goes by the name, Samson Ogbole shocked the internet when news of him planting in the air came out.

Ogbole practices aeroponics. This is a method of farming where crops are cultivated in the air, without the use of soil.
According to Ogbole, he has been practicing this form of soilless farming since 2014.
During an interview with CNN in 2018, he revealed that a substitute is brought in during aeroponics, and plants are provided with fertilizer.
According to Ogbole, Aeroponics allows farmers to plant in at any time of the year, rather than waiting for a particular season.
It also allows farmers to set up their farms in urban areas, removing the cost of food transportation from rural to urban areas.
Ogbole started soilless farming when he discovered that only 46% of the land in Nigeria was fertile for plant growth.
