Nigeria food and drug agency, NAFDAC have announced that it has not approved any COVID-19 vaccine.
The DG of the agency warned that the public should ignore any information about an approves vaccine for Nigeria’s.
Recently more countries have been rolling out COVID-19 vaccines and administering it to vulnerable citizens.
On Friday, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) stated that it has not given approval to the sale or distribution of any COVID-19 vaccine.
The agency warned that there have been report of fake vaccines and urging the public to avoid any drug that advertise itself as COVID-19 vaccine as it an cause coronavirus like sickness and may even lead to death.
Speaking further Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General of NAFDAC urged the government and organisations not to purchase any vaccines without passing it through NAFDAC for evaluation and confirmation.
