Justice for Bamishe: BRT Driver Opens up About the Death of Passenger

On the 26th of February, a 22-year-old female Oluwabamished Toyosi Ayanwole boarded a state-owned BRT bus on her way home from work. On the trip from Lekki to Oshodi, she made a call and sent videos to her friend, complaining that she felt unsafe on the bus.

BamisheIt turned out that her fears came to reality, as it was the last time that her friends and family heard from her. A week passed and her family members finally found the BRT bus at the park, but it was empty. Bamishe’s family created a scene at the par, the video went viral, as more people on social media demanded Justice.

Ebute Ero residents reported that Bamishe was thrown out of a moving bus on the day that she went missing. There were also reports that her body was mutilated. Fast-forward to today, the BRT driver has been arrested and he claims that some armed men attacked the bus and dragged Bamise out with them.

Meanwhile, after weeks of silence, Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has finally reacted to the death of the young lady. In a statement that was released on Instagram, the governor promised that justice will be served.
