The Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed has opened up about the ongoing negotiation between the government and Twitter for the removal of the Twitter ban.
The Presidential aide disclosed that recommended conditions for the lifting Twitter ban will b applied to other social media platforms and Over-The-Top.
The minister discussed the ban during a phone interview on TV Continental, “This Morning,”, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The minister who is in charge of the negotiations with the microblogging platform Twitter has revealed that discussions have been productive so far.
He further announced that the results from the negotiation were set to be presented to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Today, we are dealing with Twitter; we don’t want a situation where we will be dealing with Facebook tomorrow and Instagram the next day. Our recommendations will be very comprehensive.”

It’s been over 4 months since the Twitter ban was enforced in Nigeria as the government limited the use of the social media platform in the country.
