Lagos Government Begins Repairs On Lagos-Badagry Expressway

-The Lagos State Government has announced that repairs will begin on damaged parts of the Lagos-Badagry expressway.

-The repairs are expected to begin on Monday, March 29, and last for 8 weeks

-The state has worked out a traffic management plan to make movement easier during this period

Lagos State is set to begin repairs on the Lagos-Badagry expressway from Monday, March 29.

The repairs will last for 8 weeks and are scheduled to be completed on May 31, 2020.

The news was passed by The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde in a statement on Saturday, March 27, 2021.

The Commissioner listed some of the affected areas as Maza-Maza, Signal Barracks, and Mile 2.

He also stated that a traffic plan has been worked out to help people navigate the area with ease.

Dr. Oladeinde advised drivers going from Maza-Maza to Apapa to use the new slip road by Total Filling station. These motorists can also go through Signal Barracks to access the Service lane.

People coming from Oshodi to Orile can go through Mile 2 to reach the Signal Barracks.

The new reconstruction at the Lagos-Badagry expressway will see the government widen the road from 4 to 10 lanes.

The construction project will also include the addition of light rails and train stations.
