President Buhari Travels To London For Medical Checkup As Doctors Strike

-The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has traveled to London for a medical checkup

-Presidential spokesperson Femi Adesina announced on Monday that President Buhari will be gone for 2 weeks

-The President’s medical holiday was announced on the same day that resident doctors in the country revealed plans to begin an indefinite strike

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari traveled to London on Tuesday for a “routine medical checkup”.

The news of the President’s unavailability was passed in a statement by the Presidential Spokesperson, Femi Adesina.

President Buhari is expected to be out of the country for 2 weeks, during which time activities will be managed by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Buhari’s travel vacation is coming only a day after the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors insisted on carrying out a nationwide strike.

President Buhari travels to London for Checkup

The nationwide strike for resident doctors is expected to begin on Thursday, April 1 if the government fails to meet their demands.

The government, through Festus Keyamo, claims to have begun negotiations with the medical doctor’s association.

The association however denied this, claiming that nothing had changed since negotiations started three weeks ago.
