Breaking: President Buhari Leaves Nigeria Again for Medical Checkup

  • Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari will leave the country on Tuesday for Nairobi, where he is set to participate at the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations Environmental Programme
  • After the event, President Buhari will proceed to London where he is scheduled for a medical checkup that will last for a maximum of two weeks
  • The president will be accompanied to Nairobi for the programme by several dignitaries, including the minister of Foreign Affairs and the Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission

The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari is set to depart Nigeria on Tuesday, leaving Abuja for Nairobi, where he is billed to participate in the Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations Programme.

President BuhariThe programme has been scheduled to take place between the 3rd and 4th of March 2022 in Kenya. After the event, President Buhari will then proceed to London for routine medical checks that will last for a maximum of two weeks.

The president’s movement was made known by the presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina in a statement that was released on Tuesday.

Buhari’s trip to Kenya comes after an invitation for the event was extended to him by the president of the country, Uhuru Kenyatta. At the event, President Buhari is expected to deliver the National Statement of the country and participate in Dialogue Sessions on the Environment.

Mr. Adesina also disclosed that Buhari will be accompanied to the event by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of State for the Environment Sharon Ikeazor, National Security Adviser, Maj.Gen Babagana Monguno, Director General, National Intelligence Agency, Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, and the Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
