African merchants can now get paid with Paypal from any part of the world. This is thanks to a new partnership between payment companies Flutterwave and Paypal.

Next time someone wants to send money on the payment site, there will be an option for “pay with Paypal”.
According to the African payment company, this option is available to merchants across 50 countries in Africa. This means that small business owners in Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Egypt can accept payments worldwide.
Olugbenga Agboola, the CEO of Barter a d Fluterwave has reinforced that the company’s goal is to create easy digital payment across Africa.

This move is coming barely a week after the company sealed a series C investment worth over $170 million that raised the company’s valuation to over $1 billion. Naija FM reported the news.
Paypal has toyed with the idea of making its services available to Nigerians in the past but failed to carry on amid fears of fraud enablement.
In five years of its existence, Flutterwave has operated in 10 countries across Africa, processing 140 million transactions worth over $9 billion.

To receive payment through Paypal, you’ll be required to sign up with the Nigerian payment company. Users with a Rave account don’t require a new profile, however.
