  • The corpers were accused of seeking redeployment from their original states through inappropriate means
  • The affected corpers will be invited for probing and will reportedly not receive their allowance for June

On Wednesday, June 23, The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) announced that it had suspended the accounts of over 1,000 corp members for illegal redeployment.

The Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim revealed this while addressing some reporters in Abuja.

The affected corpers had their redeployment cancelled and accounts suspended for allegedly seeking relocation from their original states of posting through inappropriate means.

While some of the corpers sought redeployment on health grounds, others allegedly applied for relocation on grounds of insecurity.

Pending the time that the corpers are invited for probing, they won’t be receiving their allowance.
