NIMC: Large mob at NIMC offices for NIN registration.

Despite the ongoing shut down of Clubhouses and bars by lagos state government due to the second wave of Covid 19, NIMC offices are filled with crowds who want to register for their NIN.

Earlier last week, the federal government released a statement that enforced every citizen to verify their sim cards with their NIN number and as a result, anyone who does not have an NIN number would consequently have their sim cards blocked by their network providers.

As expected, the news was received with panic and fear as most Nigerians quickly rushed to NIMC offices to register so that they could avoid their lines getting blocked.

The end result is this;

So many Nigerians left their homes as early as 6:00 am to make it in good time and get their registration over and done with. Yet the surging crowd grows bigger than ever even at the risk of the deadly Covid 19 virus that has caused Lagos state government to shut down Club houses and bars.

Meanwhile, we reported earlier that the Nigerian government has directed all telecommunication operators to deregister all SIM cards that are not synchronized with the National Identity Number (NIN) by December 30th 2020.
