Many Nigerians have frowned at the country’s minister of defense, Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi after his statement on the bandits’ attack of Niger State central Nigeria.
The minister visited Niger state after the abduction that happened at Government Science College Kagara.
While speaking to the press on his visit, the minister advised Nigerians to stand up to the bandits causing trouble in the country.
Magashi described those that attacked the staff and student of the Government school as cowards.
The minister urged Nigerians not to be scared. He cited an example saying that be bandits only come with 3 rounds of ammunition sometimes but they are successful because people run after one shot.

The minister added that security is the responsibility of everyone and it should not be left to the ministers alone.
Many Nigerians reacted to the statement of the military man with anger on social media.
Many stated that it was irresponsible of the Minister to ask people to risk their lives when he was moving with security guards.

About 27 students were abducted on Wednesday 17 February when bandits raided a school in Niger State.
Several students were also kidnapped and one student ended up dead during the altercation.
