Reddington hospital has revealed to the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS that it treated numerous people with gunshot wounds on the night of the Lekki Massacre.

The representative of the hospital told the panel that the hospital was overwhelmed by a crowd of wounded patients.

A surgeon at the hospital, Babajide Lawson added that the hospital was unable to keep records on that night due to the overwhelming crowd.

The Nigerian army has been accused of opening fire on unarmed citizens at the Lekki toll gate during the #EndSARS protest.

Protesters submitted a petition to the panel, a claim which the army denied even though there were video proofs.

The Nigerian army has removed their legal representatives from the panel hearing following the hospital’s testimony.

Babatunde Lawson also revealed that he personally treated 6 people with bullet wounds on the night of the shooting.

He stated that some patients suffered entering and exit bullets wound. He added that bullets that were recovered from the bodies of patients will be handed over to the police.

After the incident last year, CNN released a report that showed that the bullets recovered from the scene were purchased by the Nigerian army.

Nobody has been held responsible for the incident even though there were various pieces of pieces of evidence.
