A gas tanker explosion on Thursday night in Lagos at Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja resulting in human injuries and destruction of property.
The tanker exploded around 10:32 pm due to leakage as it drove into Ikeja.
The fire from the explosion was then transported by the wind into the premises of Ogun State Property Investment Company (OPIC), a rental facility that houses other businesses.
Even though the fire was eventually put out around 12:30 am, 13 persons (nine males and four females) sustained burns and were transported to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for treatment.
Four victims with critical burns had to be transported to Burns Centre, General Hospital Gbagada in the early hours of Friday.
More than 25 vehicles were also reportedly burnt during the incident, which led to the vacation of guests at a nearby Sheraton hotel.

The accident also resulted in a congested road that trapped motorist and forced them to remain for hours.
Many onlookers have blamed the emergency response of Lagos for the escalation of the fire from the gas tanker explosion due to their slow response.
