Following the recommencement of negotiations between the Federal Government led by Festus Keyamo and the leadership of the Organised Labour over the increase in fuel price and electricity tariff, the government has agreed to cut down the fuel price by N5.

Few weeks ago, the Petroleum Products Marketing Company, a subsidiary of the NNPC, increased the ex-depot price of petrol from N147.67 per litre to N155.17 per litre. The implications of the increment means that petrol marketers are allowed to sell between N168 – N170 per litre.

Following the decision, there were heavy backlash against the move by the government company. The FG initially removed N2 from the depot price of N155.17 per litre, still Organises Labour threatened mass action except the price was reviewed again.
