Yoruba actor and Producer Toyin Abrahams have asked if she cannot promote her movie in peace as fans condemned her for promoting her new movie sequels instead of lending her voice to the #ENDSARS protest making waves around the country.
In the wake of the campaign against police brutality being perpetrated by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) a unit of the Nigerian Police Force, social media influencers as well as entertainment celebrities has used their large followings and popularity to heighten the call to put an end to SARS.
On Thursday 8 of October, 2020 music starts like Runtown, Falz and Tiwas Savage joined a large group of protesters who marched from Ikeja Under Bridge to the Lagos State Assembly to deliver a protest letter to the Speaker of the House.
Toyin Abrahams who won the best actress in Africa award at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) made several tweets about her new movie Alakada 1 and 2 and that it was now showing in cinemas but was meant with a lot of rebuff from fans who felt her timing was insensitive to the current agitations from Nigerians.
