The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has signed a Covid-19 protection regulation that makes it compulsory for everyone to wear face masks.

This revelation was made by the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Mr. Boss Mustapha while he was speaking in Abuja on Wednesday.

While addressing Nigerians yesterday, Mustapha stated that the President signed the regulation and it becomes effective immediately.

The president exercised powers conferred on him by law to sign the document into law.

The decision was made to protect the health ad wellbeing of Nigerians and limit the rising cases of Covid-19 in different parts of the country.

There were other regulations signed as part of the six-part document.

The first part places a restriction on large gatherings. It states that a distance of at least two meters met be maintained between individuals in a gathering.

It also states that no more than 50 people must stay in an enclosed space except for religious purposes in which case, it is restricted to 50 percent of the building capacity.

The second regulation prevents you from entering a commercial building without a face mask and sanitized hands.

In addition, it prevents you from entering a building if your temperature exceeds 38 degrees Celsius. Oga go collect treatment.

The third regulation states that the first and second regulations are mandatory for all persons.

The remaining part of the regulation is aimed at penalties for breaching, enforcement, and interpretation.
