Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is set to go live and address the world today, according to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The president will speak at the 76th Session of the high-level General Debate of the UN General Assembly.
The event will be hosted at the UN headquarters in New York on Friday and broadcasted at 9 am (2 pm Nigerian time).
During this event, Buhari will address the theme of the Assembly and also speak on other global issues.
The theme for the 76th session of the UN General Assembly is “Building Resilience Through Hope – To Recover from COVID-19, Rebuild Sustainably, Respond to the Needs of the Planet, Respect the Rights of People and Revitalise the United Nation’’.
Today’s session of the event will also feature speeches from the leaders of African countries such as Gambia, South Sudan, Senegal, and also European powerhouse Germany.

The Nigerian leader will teach other world leaders how to manage their economy during this pandemic.
Meanwhile, President Buhari has participated in several bilateral meetings with various world leaders including the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Queen of The Netherlands Maxima Zorreguieta.
