Nigeria Will Defeat Boko Haram This Year – Buhari

Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari has on Friday disclosed a new timeline to defeat Boko Haram insurgency.

According to the president who is on his second term, the counterinsurgency effort of the FG would end this year.g

It can be recalled that the Northeastern part of Nigeria has been ravage by the activities of Boko Haram in over a decade now, killing thousands and displacing millions.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, gave a timeline to close the war against Boko Haram and bandits in the country.

The President said the counter insurgency war will be finished this year, 2021. He also called for prayers for the members of the Nigeria Armed Forces to enable them see out the war.

Speaking during Friday Juma’at Prayer at the National Mosque for the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration Buhari stressed that this year is for action and the government would finish what it started with regards to the fight against insurgency.

Represented by the Defence Minister, Major General Magashi Salihi, the president expressed his optimism that  what is happening in the nation will soon be over.

Meanwhile, we reported that Mrs Yemisi Edun has just been appointed as the acting Managing Director of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) after being an executive director on the bank’s board.
