Nigerians have been cautioned to avoid the dangerously burnt Airport Road Flyover in Lagos as expert have been drafted to evaluate it structural safety. Mr Olukayode Popoola, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, gave the advice on Friday , cautioning the public to stay off the flyover until it has been certified fit for usage. It was reported that the Airport Road Flyover which was undergoing reconstruction was taken over by fire on Thursday when a petrol tanker burst into flames. A joint inspection by both the federal and Lagos State governments was carried on Friday in a bid to ascertain the extent of damage to the bridge as a result of the inferno. Meanwhile, we reported earlier that the Nigerian government has directed all telecommunication operators to deregister all SIM cards that are not synchronized with the National Identity Number (NIN) by December 30th 2020.
