The Yoruba activist was on the run from July 1st after he was declared wanted by the DSS to 19th July when he was arrested in Benin
Yoruba Activist Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho as opened up about the attack of the Department of State Service (DDS) on his house and him fleeing Nigeria.

The facilitator of the Yoruba Nation movement disclosed that he ran fled to the Benin Republic to avoid being killed.
Igboho was declared wanted by the DSS on 1st July after arms and charms were found during a raid on his house in Ibadan.

Mr Adeyemo was however arrested on July 18th while training to leave Benin to Germany with his wife.
Igboho’s lawyer, David Ibrahim Salami spoke to the Nation about who happened in the court on Monday.

When the judge asked him how and when he entered the Benin Republic, who housed him and who took him to the airport, Igboho told the court that his coming to the Benin Republic was to flee from his traducers who wanted to kill him in Nigeria.
Mr Salami also disclosed that Sunday Igboho will remain in prison till investigations are concluded about his reason for coming to Cotonou.
Salami added that Benin laws will allow Mr Adeyemo to be released on bail depending on findings during the investigation.

Meanwhile, Salami disclosed that the Nigerian government is yet to any complaint against Igboho before the Benin court.
