Nigerians try the Charlie Charlie Challenge: A game that summons demons
The Charlie Charlie Challenge sees people trying to summon a demon
Videos of the game have gone viral on Twitter
The game sees a pencil get moved by a demon
If there is one thing we can count on, it is the ability of Nigerians to develop new ways to have fun. This was witnessed again today on social media, as many tried out the charlie charlie challenge. Charlie-Charlie is a hunted challenge where participants try summoning a demon. Yes, you read that right, the regular demon that we cast and bind in church.
How does the charlie charlie challenge work?
The game is pretty simple for something that triggers the supernatural. You’ll draw a grid on paper and divide it into four boxes – two yeses and two nos. You then stack one pencil on another and ask, “Charlie Charlie are you there?” The pencil moves and people end up screaming.
Here are some videos of Nigerians having some fun time while trying the challenge.

Why do the pencils move?
We can always trust science to find the reason for something and it doesn’t disappoint. Many people including researchers from the Independent believe that the movement of the pencil is caused by gravity. Most times the pencils are awkwardly stacked upon one another. Other times people just blow some air to make the pencils move.
Are you brave enough to give this a try?
