Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has announced that her movie Fate of Alakada will hit cinemas on the 1st of October 2020. She has been sharing updates on progress made on the movie since the lockdown was lifted.
Activities in cinemas were put on hold following the government’s directive on Covid-19 control. Many movies were affected just like Fate of Alakada but it appears that key players like actress Toyin Abraham have made some calculations.
The possibility of another lockdown is slim as the country struggles to revive a weakened economy. October 1st is also Nigeria’s 60th independence anniversary. It will be a public holiday and a day when people can go to the cinemas.
Before now most movie producers chose to release their movies on Netflix which is easily accessible to everyone but there is something special about cinemas. Fate of Alakada will not be on Netflix for now until it is launched on the 1st of October.
The movie trailer has been out since March 2020 and it is going to be a landmark in the post lockdown period. The movie features Entertainment heavyweights like Davido, Broda Shaggi, and a host of other celebrities.
Those who attend cinemas on the 1st of October will not only watch the movie, they will also be entertained. However, it is expected that cinemas will strictly adhere to Covid-19 guidelines.
