2 Nigerians Impersonate Bruno Mars and Scam Texas Woman Of $100,000

Two Nigerian men, Chinwendu Azuonwu, 39, and Basil Amadi, 29 have been arraigned at a court in Houston and charged with money laundering.
They scammed a 63-year-old woman in Texas and collect the sum of $100,000.
The alleged conmen were able to pull this off by impersonating pop star Bruno Mars on Instagram and Facebook.

The woman who was fooled into thinking that she was talking to Bruno Mars, agreed to pay for his touring expense.
The victim who resides in North Richland Hills, Texas had created a profile on Instagram searching for a Companion.
She met someone who she thought was Bruno Mars and she fell in love after frequent communication on Instagram and Google Hangouts.
She agreed to pay for the artiste’s touring expenses and deposited a total of $100,000.
Authorities traced the the money to JPMorgan Chase accounts belonging to Azuonwu and Amadi.
Both defendants denied knowing each other and claimed that they did not know how the money got into the account.
