The word was shaken by the pace with which Elon Musk went up the World’s rich-list last year.
The Tesla CEO will have to find a way to manage this steep and avoid dropping down the list.
Musk lost $27 billion between Monday and Friday when Tesla shares tumbled.
The billionaire has seen his net worth drop to $156.9 billion, $20 billion behind Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos.
Musk had previously topped Bloomberg Billionaires Index last week but the loss has seen him drop to second.
Musk’s fortune rise was driven by Tesla’s shares 743% gains in 2020. His gains continued into the new year and in January he overtook Bezos when his fortune peaked at $210 billion.
The Tesla CEO’s fortune has also recently been influenced by Bitcoin. Last month Tesla disclosed that it had made an investment of $1.5 billion in the flagship cryptocurrency.
