-Parishes in some countries were reportedly blessing Gay Unions before the church expressed alarm over this
-The announcement came as a shock to gay Catholics who had expected the ruling to change under Pope Francis
There will be no room for same-sex marriages in Catholic churches according to the Vatican. This was announced on Monday and it was disappointing news for Homosexual Catholics.
The Vatican raised alarm about its non-acceptance of such practices after there were incidences of same-sex marriages being blessed by ministers in some countries.
Conservatives have raised alarm about this practice in Germany where one of the Pope’s advisors, Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Munich showed support for Homosexual marriages.
The Vatican was asked a formal question on whether same-sex marriages were accepted and the answer was “Negative”.
Pope Francis also backed the response, adding that it was not a form of discrimination but a reminder of the truth.
Executive Director of the gay Catholics group, Francis DeBernado stated that the response was expected but it was disappointing.
DeBernado however stated that this will not stop Catholic homosexuals who want to tie the knot.
