The family of legendary Hollywood actor, Bruce Willis has announced that the actor is taking a step away from his career after he was diagnosed with aphasia.
In a heartfelt post that was shared on her Instagram page, his eldest daughter, Rumer Willis disclosed his father’s diagnosis and revealed that it was affecting his cognitive abilities.
The post which was signed by her mother Demi Moore (ex-wife), wife- Emma, and siblings- Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, and Evelyn, reads:
“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and recently has been diagnosed with aphasia, which is affecting his cognitive abilities.”
What is Aphasia?
Aphasia is a medical condition that affects a person’s ability to communicate, leading to problems when talking and writing. The disease is also likely to affect a person’s ability to understand both verbal and written language, according to Mayo Clinic.

Although the disease mostly arises after one suffers a stroke or a brain injury, it can also develop gradually due to the growth of a brain tumor or a degenerative disease.
Bruce Willis, 67, is an American actor that began his career in the 1970s. He’s featured in several actor movies with the popular ones being “Die Hard”, “Unbreakable”, and “G.I Joe: Retaliation”.
