Chelsea’s billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is reported to have been banned from living in Britain ever again.

The Russian hasn’t made a visit to his Premier League’s club football stadium, Stamford Bridge in months and has rarely been to England since withdrawing his application for a British Tier 1 investor visa in 2018.

The Russian made the decision after there was a delay in his application due to criticism of Russian oligarchs in the wake of the Salisbury poisonings.

According to The Sun, security officials have reported that it is going to be difficult for the Russian billionaire to ever live in Britain.

The report states that immigration officials have been instructed to make it impossible for 55-year-old to ever be based in the UK. His case is reported to have been forwarded to the Home Office’s ‘Special Cases Unit’.

Britain has taken a swift decision against Roman Abramovich since he was named as one of the 35 oligarchs identified by Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny to be among the enablers of kleptocracy run by president Vladimir Putin.

In 2018, Mr. Abramovich became an Israeli citizen and this allows him to visit Britain for up to 6 months. He capitalized on this opportunity and used his Israeli passport to visit London, last October.

Mr. Abramovich who has an estimated wealth of $15.1 billion according to Bloomberg, is the Chelsea in 2003 and transformed the team into European giants.
