Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left his role as the manager of Manchester United after an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Watford on Saturday.
United confirmed the sack of their ex-player while stating that Michael Carrick will be placed in temporal care of the club.
The club also disclosed its intention to appoint an interim manager to oversee affairs until the end of the season.
Solskjaer who only signed a new three-year deal in July leaves after a poor run of form that has seen the club lose five of their last seven premier league matches.
The Manchester club is now 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea who they are set to face next on November 28th.

Although the board was reluctant to fire Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a 5-0 loss to rivals Liverpool and a 2-0 derby defeat to Manchester City, the shocking loss to Watford would not be ignored.
Last season League runners up Manchester United are currently 7th on the Premier League table with 17 points from 12 matches.
