Cash App Rolls Out Payment in Bitcoin and Lighting Network for Crypto

• Payment company, Cash App has announced the launch of three new services for users, including a “payment in Bitcoin” feature

• The company also introduced Bitcoin Roundups which allows users to round up payments to the nearest dollar, and invest the rest in Bitcoin

• Lighting Network has also been enabled on the platform, allowing users to send BTC through the new network

Twitter co-founder, Jack Dorsey who doubles as the CEO of Block, has announced some new features on the latter’s Cash App. The mobile payment system is set to add three new features to make the platform more compatible with Bitcoin.

The San Francisco-based company disclosed that the first new feature is a “paid in bitcoin” service. This service will allow users to convert their paychecks to BTC as soon as it comes in.

Customers can now convert as little as 1%, or up to 100% of their payroll into the flagship cryptocurrency.

Block Inc, which also manages Spiral and TIDAL music streaming, revealed that the development of this feature has been on since 2019.

Another service that was rolled out by the company is the “Bitcoin Roundups” feature. This round-up service allows Cash App users to round up spare changes from purchases into Bitcoin.

With this service, users’ card transactions will be rounded up to the nearest dollar, while the change will be transferred to their BTC wallet.

Finally, the company disclosed that the Lightning Network, which launched in January was set to become available for direct payments. With this feature, users can leverage unified QR receive codes to accept Lightning Network payments directly.
