A 12-year-old boy from London Benyamin Ahmed has gotten his name in the news after making a fortune out of selling Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

Benyamin created is collection of pixelated art called Weird Whales comprising 3,350 pixelated whales and sold them as NFTs.

Ahmed sold his tokens for £290,000 (N200m) and received his money in Ethereum.

He spent $300 on the project which was used as the gas fee to verify the entire NFT collection on the blockchain.

Ahmed started coding when he was five years old after being encouraged by his father who is a software developer.

Before creating the Weird Whales, Ahmed made another digital collection inspired by Minecraft but they did not sell for as much.

The 12-year-old has decided to keep his earnings in Ethereum while he works on new superhero-themed digital art.
