Reddit Co-founder Predicts Crypto Gaming Boom Within 5 Years

Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian has predicted that gamers will highly participate in play-to-earn crypto in five years.

While speaking in a recent episode of the “Where It Happens” podcast, Ohanian claims that he expects that 90% of people will not play a game unless they are valued for the time player.

“… instead of being harvested for advertisements, or being fleeced for dollars to buy stupid hammers you don’t actually own, you will be playing some on-chain equivalent game that will be just as fun”.

Crypto gaming play-to-earns are virtual games that have grown in popularity around the world within the last year.
Gaming worlds such as Axie Infinity and Sandbox have adopted cryptocurrencies as in-game currencies for their play-to-earn games.

Asides from Ohanian, many crypto industry experts have predicted an increase in the adoption of gaming franchises. They also expect more players around the world to embrace play-to-earn games in 2022.

Among play-to-earn crypto tokens, Decentraland’s MANA currently has the highest market cap, according to CoinMarketCap.

Ohanian also expects more people to participate in a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). This is a term that describes various people coming together for a common purpose on the internet.
