Nigerian fraudster, Obinwanne Okeke commonly known as Invictus Obi has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The former businessman was found guilty of being involved in a fraud scheme that caused his victims to lose $11 million.

Obi engaged in a business email and computer hacking scheme that enabled him to obtain money from his victims between 2015 to 2019.

Obinwanne operated a group of companies in Nigeria known as the Invictus Group before he was arrested in 2019.

As part of the scheme, Obi got the help of others in targeting Unatrac Holding Limited. They were able I secure login credentials by using phishing email.

Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Norfolk Field Office, Brian Dugan said that the FBI will not allow cybercriminals to prey freely on US companies.

It will be recalled that Invictus Obi made Forbes list of 30 under 30. Before his hidden skeletons were uncovered, he was regarded as one of the top young entrepreneurs in Africa.
