  • Nigeria recorded 7 deaths from COVID 19 complications on Wednesday, August 19, which brings the country’s total death total to 2,236 deaths
  • The country also recorded 1,149 new cases across the 16 states where testing was carried out on Wednesday
  • Lagos remains the epicentre of the virus, accounting for more than 50% of the total recorded infections

Daily recorded COVID 19 infections skyrocketed to 1,149 on Wednesday, with Lagos leading the surge.

Rivers followed with 157 new cases while Akwa Ibom recorded 94 infections in the latest report.
