One of Africa’s biggest food and infrastructure company, BUA has purchased one million doses of Covid vaccine for Nigeria.
The AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines were purchased with the help of the Afrexim Vaccine Programme and CACOVID.
According to the company, the doses of vaccine are expected in the country by next week.

It is reported that a budget of 2 trillion Naira is required to purchase vaccines for 200 million Nigerians. This threw doubt over the country’s ability to obtain the vaccines.
Founder of BUA, Abdul Samad Rabiu thanked Afrexim Bank for their role in securing the vaccine.
The vaccine is expected to be used on frontline workers who are committing their lives to manage the pandemic.
The president of the organization also announced that BUA is committing to secure five million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine when they become available.
