
Lagos State Government Reveals COVID Vaccine Side Effects

The government also announced a date for the second phase of the COVID vaccination
The Lagos state government has completed the first phase of COVID vaccination.

Following the completion of the vaccination, the state has admitted that some recipients of the vaccine experienced side effects.
According to Lagos state’s Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, the side effects experienced were minor.
Prof. Abayomi listed some of the AstraZeneca COVID Vaccine side effects as fever, body pain, pain on the injection site, and swelling.

The health commissioner however added that none of the side effects exceeded 24 to 48 hours.
Prof. Akin Abayomi also announced a date for the commencement of the second phase of vaccination.

The exercise is expected to begin on May 28, 2021, after the state used up half of its vaccine allocation to vaccinate 257,756 people.

The leftover vaccine will be used to vaccinate the same 257,756 persons to complete the process.
