  • 1,043,737 have received the COVID vaccine in Nigeria, according to The National Primary Health Care Development Agency

  • Lagos state has completed the most vaccinations so far with 192,061 representing 75.7% of its targeted population

  • Kwara State has completed the most per targeted population with 110% of the targets receiving the vaccine

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has announced that 1,043,737 people have been vaccinated as of April 14th, 2021.

According to the statement released on Wednesday evening, this is 51.9% of the country’s targeted population.

Kwara state leads in the percentage of targets reached. A total of 30,708 vaccinations have been completed, which is 110% of its target.

However, Lagos state has completed the most vaccinations at the moment, a total of 192,061, which represents 75.7% of its targets.

Vaccination

Abuja has vaccinated 40.1% of its target, which covers 44,098 people.

Nigeria is currently maintaining its use of the AstraZeneca vaccine which was released in Abuja in early March.

The country also announced plans to receive 70 million doses of the Johnson and Johnson COVID vaccine in the coming months.

The expected vaccine has however been discontinued in the United States after cases of fatal blood clots were recorded.
