
COVID 19: Only Vaccinated Fans Will Be Allowed to Attend the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

The Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa has announced that fans without full vaccination will not be allowed into stadiums at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

The PM also announced that Qatar would provide one million doses of COVID vaccine for those coming for the world cup

At the time of the last report of the NPHCDA, only 261,670 Nigerians have had received the first dose of the COVID 19 vaccine
Qatar will only allow fans that are fully vaccinated into stadiums during the 2022 World Cup.

The Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa also announced that the country is in the process of securing 1 million COVID 19 vaccines for immunization of visitors.
The Arabian country will host the apex football tournament in November 2022 and FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced that stadiums will be full.
While most participating countries are expected to have vaccinated their population by then, other preventive measures are being taken to guarantee the success of the event.

The prime minister also announced that the country is in talks with an undisclosed company to secure the purchase of the vaccines.
It remains unclear how the vaccines will be administered since most COVID 19 vaccines are administered in two doses, weeks apart.
The vaccines will also be made available only to those who have not been previously vaccinated.

Residents of Qatar are currently being vaccinated with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

About 2.8 million doses of the vaccine have been administered to 50.8% of its population.
Nigeria remains one of the countries lagging behind in vaccination. As at the last report, only 261,670 have received complete dose of COVID 19 vaccine in Nigeria.
