Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has received the second dose of the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine.
The president received the second shot at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Saturday Afternoon.
This dose has been administered 12 weeks after he received his first shot on March 6.
The shot was administered by the Chief Personal Physician to the President, Dr Suhayb Rafindadi Sanusi.
After taking the shot, President Buhari was presented with his vaccination card from Dr Faisal Shuaib, the Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency.

This incident is going to mark the start of the second round of vaccination for those who received their vaccine 2 weeks ago.
A single shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine is reported to have a 70% efficacy however receiving another shot will reduce the risk of contracting the virus to about 95%.
