
300 People Test Positive For COVID 19 After Protesting at Climate Summit

UN climate summit COP26 which happened in Glasgow, Scotland has resulted in almost 300 people testing positive for COVID 19.
After preliminary testing was carried out, it was discovered that 291 positive COVID cases were linked to the event.
Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland confirmed the cases while speaking Holyrood on Tuesday.
Sturgeon also disclosed that there had been no substantial increase in the cases since then.
She said:
“I can confirm that there is no sign so far of any significant spike in cases associated with Cop.”
“Rigorous measures were put in place to minimize the risks of Covid transmission.”

She disclosed that strict measures were put in place to minimize the spread of the virus such as nose mask-wearing and those who wanted to enter the main summit site had to present a negative lateral flow test.
Public Health Scotland reported that 4 out of every 1000 members of COP26 tested positive through the routine lateral flow testing.
