Talented singer Flavour N’abania  has being on a tour in Liberia for some days now. The singer was received well by the Liberians and he also did more than just holding a show.

Flavour was introduced not just as a musician but also an icon for peace and humanity. A little blind boy simply made a wish to meet Flavour and he granted the wish.

In the course of his visit, Flavour made a new friend named Semah G. Weifur who is blind and stays in an orphanage. He shared the picture of the little boy and captioned it thus;

“I made a new friend Semah G. Weifur. He’s blind and sang my songs better than me”.

The boy is so cute by the way. Seeing him reminds me that nothing can stop us if we set our mind to anything. Besides when our eyes stops to see, our mind starts to see. I wish his eyes where okay though.

Kudos to Flavour for making this boys dream of meeting him a reality. The essence of being a star is not just to make money and be rich, it is also an opportunity to reach out and touch the heart of others.

Reminds me of a video I saw of Akon; he gave up fancy cars and jewelries so he can reach out to communities in Africa lacked basic amenities. Something he said touched me, what is the essence of wearing expensive stuff and driving cars worth millions and others are wallowing in abject poverty?

I think it is a question that we all need to ask ourselves. What is our purpose for living or the purpose of being blessed with what we have? Food for thought.
