Alphabet’s Google has hired former PayPal executive Arnold Goldberg to head its payments division.
The higher of the payment expert is part of the company’s plan to incorporate a range of financial services into its product.
The company plans to extend its services into the crypto space which it had historically avoided before 2021.
However, Ready claims that the search giant plans to evolve as user and merchants demands also evolve. He signaled that Google will pay a lot more attention to crypto in the coming year.
Arnold who previously served as PayPal’s chief product architect and general manager will be instrumental in the company’s navigation into the crypto space.
The latest announcement comes only a few months after Bakkt disclosed its virtual Visa debit card would be available for use on Google Pay online and in stores.

According to Bloomberg, Ready also announced that the tech powerhouse is looking to do more of these types of partnerships with crypto companies.
Despite the company has maintained its stance against accepting crypto for transactions.
