Winners Chapel Pastor Jailed After Stealing N4.5 million and $90,000 From Church
– A Lagos state court has found a Winners Chapel Pastor guilty of illegally obtaining money belonging to the church
-The Pastor, who is a treasurer for the church stole N4.5 million and $90,000 with the help of an employee of Covenant University
-The accused has been sentenced to 3 years in prison for the crime
A court in Lagos state for special offenses has sentenced Afolabi Samuel, a Winners Chapel pastor to 3 years imprisonment.
Mr. Samuel was accused of stealing $90,000 and $4.5 million belonging to trustees of the church.
The pastor got help from Blessing Kolawole, an employee of Covenant University and they diverted the funds to personal uses.
Mr. Samuel connived with many others, using their positions as workers in the accounting department to obtain the money.

The Judge, presiding over the case, Justice Dada found the accused guilty of the crime.
Despite pleas from the accused’s counsel, Justice Dada sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment.
The convict has an option of paying a fine of N1 million but he must also return $90,000 and N2,358,000 to the church.
Other culprits involved in the crime are currently at large, including Blessing Kolawole.
