The Vanguard reporter that was reported missing in October has been found dead in Abuja.
At the time of the report, the details of his death and recovery remain sketchy, Vanguard reports.
Before his death, late Salem was covering the House of Representatives and was last seen on October 13, 2021.
On the day he went missing, he was said to have been at B.J’s garden in the company of a female relative.
The police were alerted about his disappearance on the next day after he failed to get home and the case was transferred to the Intelligence Response Team, IRT on October 16, 2021.
A couple of people were arrested in the following weeks, including a man that attempted to extort the family of the vanguard reporter.
The suspect identified as Prince Enyenihi contacted Salem’s wife on the 26th of October via a text and concealed number, demanding a ransom of N100 million.

The police responded rapidly and decrypted the number and traced it to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Further investigations however revealed that Mr. Enyenihi did not have the missing reporter in his company.
During interrogation, Enyenihi claimed that he got Salem’s wife’s number from a flyer that was being circulated on social media.
The police later described the arrest of 25-year-old Enyenihi as a distraction.
