Lekki Shooting: Our CCTV stopped working at 8pm, didn’t capture shooting – LCC

The Lekki Concession Company presented the video footage to the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry setup by the Lagos State Governor to investigate petitions against police. The footage was submitted on Tuesday alongside other documents.

On October 20, unarmed #ENDSARS protesters were attacked and shot by the personnel of the Nigerian Army, killing over a dozen persons according to eyewitness and leaving many with varying degrees of injuries.

Abayomi Omamuwasan, the Managing Director of LCC appeared in company of a counsel representing the company, Rotimi Seriki, submitted a hard drive to the panel that contained what happened at the toll gate as captured by CCTV.

Seriki, who presented the footage to the panel, advised that it should be used discreetly especially the possibility of making the footage public.

The panel admitted the footage and marked it as ‘Exhibit A’.

While making his testimony before the panel, he disclosed that the CCTV stopped recording around 8pm and did not capture the shootings.

“The surveillance camera didn’t capture the shooting.

“It stopped recording around 8pm,” Omamuwasan told the panel.
