
Lagos Bans Indoor Gathering of More Than 50 People After Spike in Covid Cases
-Lagos state has been experiencing a steady increase of Covid-19 cases in the state
-In a bid to limit the spread of the disease, the state government has placed a limit on gathering
-More than 50 people are not allowed to gather in an enclosed building
The Lagos state government, lead by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has taken drastic steps to limit the spread of coronavirus in the state.
While giving an update on coronavirus, Gov. Sanwo-Olu stated that the government is banning gatherings of more than 50 people indoors.

The Governor added that this update was in line with COVID-19 Health Protection Regulations signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Additionally, information on the Governor’s official Twitter handle revealed that only religious institutions are exempted from the regulation.
Religious buildings are allowed to hold up to 50 percent of their original capacity.
A breach of this regulation will result in a fine, 6 months jail term or both.
Lagos State currently has the highest number of Covid-19 cases, with a total of 47,871 confirmed as of the 29th of January. Although the majority have recovered, there are still 9,856 active cases.
The test positivity ratio for January stands at 24% which means that one out of every 4 people tested has the virus.
