Court Dismisses Certificate Forgery Suit Against Godwin Obaseki

The certificate forgery allegation filled against Edo Stare Governor, Godwin Obaseki has been dismissed.

The ruling by a Federal High Court sitting at the nation’s capital, Abuja came on Saturday January 9.

The suit had alleged that the Governor presented a fake certificate in which he used to scale through the election screening by INEC.

Delivering the judgement, Justice Ahmed Mohammed on Saturday in a case filed by a chieftain of the All Progressives Party (APC) Williams Edobor, against the Godwin Obaseki wherein he had accused the Governor of presenting a fake certificate from the University of Ibadan in a bid to seek reelection.

Godwin Obaseki won the Edo State Governorship election held on September 19, 2020 after defecting from the APC.

The Justice in his final judgement insisted that Godwin Obaseki was duky qualified to contest the election and that the plaintiff lacked enough evidence o push their forgery allegations.

Meanwhile, we reported earlier that the Nigerian government has directed all telecommunication operators to deregister all SIM cards that are not synchronized with the National Identity Number (NIN) by December 30th 2020.
