
FG Postpones Reopening Of Third Mainland Bridge, Blames Protesters
-The federal government has postponed the reopening of Third Mainland bridge in Lagos
-The government claims that the #EndSars protest that happened in October 2020 is a major reason for the delay
-The casting of the last expansion joint on the bridge will now happen between February 19 and 21
The Federal Government has postponed the reopening of the third mainland bridge.

Mr. Popoola added that the casting of the final expansion joint on the bridge would now be done between February 19 and 21. This will require that both lanes be closed to prevent vibration.
After the casting, an additional 4 days will e required for suspension. Mr. Popoola however assured the public that the bridge will be opened before the end of February.
The third mainland bridge is the longest in Nigeria and it connects the mainland to Lagos island. The bridge has been undergoing a series of construction which has affected movement in that route.
