The negotiating team of the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) are currently in another meeting after failing to come to an agreement several times.
ASUU is currently requesting a release of the N30 billion revitalization fund while rejecting the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System proposed by the FG.
During their last meeting on Thursday 22 October 2020, but parties failed to come to an agreement on these two key areas.
It is believed that ASUU demanded that the federal government release half of the revitalisation fund which is the equivalent of N110. The government remains unable to meet the demand due to the current state of the economy.
Both parties are currently in another meeting as Nigerians await positive news.
