ENDSARS: Protesters Are Chasing Clout – Police PRO

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police, DSP Frank Mba has lashed out at the #ENDSARS protesters who trooped out en-mass to campaign against the incessant brutish activity of operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, a unit of the Nigerian Police Force.

Frank Mba during a televised interaction session on Channels TV, distinguished the #ENDSARS protesters into two groups, claiming one was genuinely calling for reform while the other group was simply seeking social media validation.

”We carried out a study and I challenge you to do that study yourself. We found out that there are different people, motivated by different reason who are calling for the end of SARS.

”The first and the most legitimate section or segment are those who are genuinely genuinely concerned about the professional misconduct being exhibited by some operatives from these special tactical squads. These set of Nigerians have genuine cases, genuine concerns; they’re angered by those infractions on the right of Nigerians and they’re demanding for total change and overhaul, want things to be properly done, they want the police leadership to do the right thing. We understand and we’re in line with them” He said.

There’s also another sets of persons who are aiding and helping for the call to the end of SARS. These are people who ate beneficiaries of criminal enterprise. Some of them probably are people who are receiving stolen goods; who are into organised crime such as armed robbery, arms smuggling, illicit arms movements, importation of drugs and other kinds of crimes. He added.

We reported earlier that IGP had banned SARS operatives and other tactical force from rountine stop and search. Naija.FM also published a report of how Wizkid and Buhari’s aide engaged themselves on Twitter over the #ENDSARS. In the same vain, former president Abubakar Atiku also responed to the call to ENDSARS
