The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced that it has seized jewellery worth N14 billion from the possession of the former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison-Madueke.
The anti-fraud organisation I recovered property worth $80 million according to the chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa.
Mr Bawa stated that the possessions have fully been forfeited to the government but they have not been sold or auctioned.

The disclosure was made during the agency’s boss appearance before the House of Representatives during an assessment for recovered loot on Friday.
Why haven’t the possessions been auctioned?
Saw a revealed that the delay in the auction of items has been delayed by court procedures and other administrative agencies.
To avoid further delays, EFCC will go digital with its operations and document keeping to ensure that everything is more accessible.

Bawa also announced the launch of 4 new departments in the EFCC, namely the Intelligence dept, procurement dept, Department of Internal Affairs and the Information & Communication Technology Department.
He also stated that contrary to rumours recovered loot is not being relooted since the organisation is serious with its fight against corruption.
